Nema is in-network with Horizon & UHC in Linwood, New Jersey — the same Horizon and UHC plans used at Shore Medical Center in Somers Point. Most patients pay little to nothing out of pocket for intensive trauma therapy. Coverage varies by plan — verify your benefits in under two minutes on our site.
The effects of childhood abuse don't stay in childhood. They shape how you see yourself, how you trust others, and how safe you feel in the world — often for decades. Nema's intensive trauma therapy is designed to help adults finally process those experiences and find lasting relief. Our treatment uses Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), which is particularly effective for childhood trauma because it addresses the beliefs abuse installs early — that you're broken, that it was your fault, that you don't deserve better. You'll work with a dedicated therapist 2-3 times per week over about 39 days to examine and update those beliefs systematically. Everything is fully virtual and private. 93% of our patients no longer meet the criteria for PTSD after treatment. For those with complex trauma (C-PTSD), Nema also provides DBT skills groups, peer support, and up to 10 months of continued care through our Rise recovery program.
Getting started takes three steps. First, a short info call to understand what you're looking for and answer any practical questions. Second, we verify your insurance so there aren't surprises. Third, you complete a 75-minute clinical evaluation with a licensed clinician who will assess your symptoms, confirm a diagnosis, and build a personalized care plan. From there, you move into intensive treatment — 2 to 3 virtual sessions per week with your dedicated therapist for about 4 to 6 weeks. Between sessions, you'll practice short exercises that help you apply what you're learning in real life. Most patients complete treatment in about 39 days. After intensive care, you can transition into Rise — Nema's ongoing recovery program with continued therapy, peer support groups, and skills-based sessions for up to 10 months.
Nema is 100% virtual — no driving Shore Road or commuting to a clinic in AC or Egg Harbor Township, no crowded waiting rooms, and no risk of running into a neighbor at a local clinic. You connect with your therapist from wherever you feel most comfortable, whether that's your home in Linwood, near the bike path, or anywhere else in New Jersey. Sessions are scheduled around your life, including early mornings and evenings, so treatment fits your schedule instead of replacing it. Every session is private, secure, and HIPAA-compliant.
