Q&A

What inspired you to become a Peer Mentor with Nema Health?

First, I saw Nema's mission. The mission resonated with me on every level. I recalled my personal trauma journey and Nema models what I needed at that time. Nema's compassion and dedication aligned with my own. I knew that I always wanted to be a resource, peer, and support to those that have survived trauma. I found a home at Nema Health. They embody my goal to help others take themselves from surviving to thriving.

How has your own life changed since recovery from PTSD?

I have found a new perspective. I stopped looking at myself through the eyes of guilt, shame, embarrassment and started to find the wisdom in my wounds. Now, I look at myself as a treasure chest. My experiences are things that connect me with others and the journey has been beautiful in its own right. If someone can gain something positive from the life I have lived, I am fulfilled a million times over.

‍What can clients expect in working with you? ‍

Honesty, Openness, Transparency, Kindness, and Humor. I will never ask someone to do something I, myself, am not willing to do or have not done and found to be successful. I am always 110% committed to the well-being of others. It is your journey, you are the driver, and I am an excited co-pilot.
