Q&A

What inspired you to become a therapist?

I was inspired to become a therapist through both personal and professional experiences that highlighted the impact of emotional support, safety, and understanding. Early on, I found myself drawn to helping others navigate difficult situations, especially within family and relational dynamics. Over time, I became increasingly aware of how unprocessed experiences, particularly trauma, can shape how people see themselves and interact with the world. That awareness, combined with my desire to support healing and growth, led me to pursue a career in Marriage and Family Therapy. My work has since deepened that commitment, especially in helping individuals and families build insight, strengthen relationships, and regain a sense of control in their lives.

What do you feel are your greatest strengths?

I believe my greatest strengths are my ability to build strong, trusting relationships with clients and to approach clinical work through a thoughtful, trauma-informed lens. I am skilled at helping clients feel safe, heard, and understood, which allows for deeper engagement in the therapeutic process. I also have strong assessment and clinical judgment skills, particularly in identifying risk and understanding how past experiences influence present functioning. Additionally, I bring a structured and organized approach to treatment, while remaining flexible and responsive to each client’s needs. My experience working across systems, individual, family, and community, allows me to see the bigger picture and support clients accordingly. Overall, I strive to balance empathy with clinical effectiveness to help clients achieve meaningful and lasting change.

‍What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Clients can expect to leave sessions with a greater sense of clarity, emotional awareness, and practical tools they can use in their daily lives. I aim to create a safe, supportive space where they feel heard and understood, while also helping them better understand how their thoughts, emotions, and past experiences are connected. Clients often gain insight into patterns that may be keeping them stuck, along with strategies to manage distress, regulate emotions, and improve communication. I also focus on helping clients build confidence in their ability to cope and make meaningful changes. Over time, the goal is for clients to feel more empowered, more in control of their responses, and better equipped to move forward in a healthier, more intentional way.
