Q&A

What inspired you to become a therapist?

As cliche as it may sound, I become a Licensed Professional Counselor because I want to help others. I know there are many ways to help; however I chose to help build emotional health because it’s often overlooked or minimized.  I know that taking care of your emotional health positively influences all aspects of your life.  I want to be a part of your positive change.

What do you feel are your greatest strengths?

I believe my greatest strengths are my empathy, compassion, and resiliency. This quote, “There are so many people out there who will tell you that you can’t. What you’ve got to do is turn around and say, Watch me.” By Layne Beachley, is my favorite. It sums me up well.  Often, we are required to pivot to reach our goals. I feel it is essential not to allow others to discourage you from living your dreams.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In therapy together, we will first work toward acknowledging and naming your thoughts, feelings and emotions. It doesn’t matter whether your challenges stem from present day stressors/incidents or from long ago experiences: the therapeutic process will support and encourage increase self awareness, helping you to learn to manage negative thinking and foster personal growth.
